Description of the WageIndicator project
Brought online for the first time in the spring of 2001, the Dutch WageIndicator websites since 2004 are systematically copied for and adapted to labour markets in EU-countries and on other continents. As of 2005 the WageIndicator is operational in 42 countries on 5 continents. These websites are of interest for:
• scientists who want to research salary and labour market developments over time
• trade unions and employers organisations who like to do research on labour market issues.
• employees who like to compare their salaries with those of colleagues in the same occupation/field.
The Dutch websites are visited each month over 500,000 times. An they won the Dutch Trade Unions Award in 2001 for The Best Information Product.
More internet based projects initiated
2005 - 2009
International project leader of www.bulletinonline.org for Belarus. A network (of 60 journalists) is set up, trained and made self sustainable of locally operating independent journalist.
March 2001 - April 2008:
www.e-unions.org is a worldwide helpdesk for web-workers. The website carries 5 languages: German, English, French, Spanish and Russian. The helpdesk covers web management, content management, interactive management, techniques. It is specially made for web workers outside the USA and Northwestern Europe. E-unions won the Trade Unions Award 2002: The Best Info Product.
1998 – 2002:
Project leader of www.fnv.nl , creating a new concept for trade union websites. As a manager of a coordination-team of 6 people, 70 web workers all over the country, she created in 3 years time a website with information about labour law, salaries, collective agreements, companies’practices, professions and trade union-related news.
www.fnv.nl won the Dutch trade union award: Best information product of the year 2000. In 2001 www.fnv.nl got the award for the Best Idea.
